When it comes to preparing food for the holidays, we all want to find the simplest recipes to prepare to save ourselves time and massive headaches. That’s why we personally love this recipe for Apple Pie Dumplings.
As Holly wrote on Spend with Pennies, “This has to be the easiest dessert EVER! Seriously, two ingredients for an amazing dessert! My 10 year old probably would’ve eaten the whole recipe had I let her!”
Any dessert that’s easy — and approved by a 10-year-old — is pretty much gold in our books.
Here’s how you can make it yourself.
Preheat your oven to 375ºF.
Then, open a roll of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls and cut them into 12 equal pieces. Roll each of these pieces into a ball.
Pour one 21-oz can of apple pie filling into a 2-quart casserole dish, and add in the Crescent Roll dough balls.
Mix everything together so the dough is coated with the sauce from the filling.
Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes (this will vary depending on your oven). Be sure to flip the crescents after about 15 minutes of baking to ensure that it turns out even!
Holly has enjoyed this dessert by itself, with heavy cream, or even with ice cream. We personally love it with ice cream, but feel free to try your own favorite sides when you make it yourself!
